CHARACTER NAME: Aeleus
CHARACTER SERIES: Kingdom Hearts
[OOC]
Backtagging: All the way back to the prehistoric era. Never be afraid to want to keep an old thread going or pick it back up, or to take your time tagging anything. ♥
Threadhopping: On the notebooks, by all means, dive right in--no warning required! On logs, give me a heads up first--but as long as it's okay with everyone involved, go ahead!
Fourthwalling: I'd like a heads up first, but feel free! He'll probably try and rationalize it with wibbly wobbly weird-ass Kingdom Hearts logic anyhow.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): Nothing's off-limits, but advance warning for potential eye squick is appreciated.

Please respond with any questions you may have for the below situations!
Hugging this character: Go ahead! He'll probably hug back, even if he's confused, unless the situation is just wildly inappropriate. He gives fantastic bear hugs, and it probably feels nice and safe being held by someone so big, so everyone should absolutely take advantage of him being such a big softie.
Kissing this character: Go ahead! It's a toss-up on if he'll kiss back, freeze up, or try to disengage--unless there's some pretty obvious build-up, though, he's probably going to be very confused; he's kind of oblivious to romantic overtones.
Flirting with this character: Go ahead! Flirters of all genders, species, and other social status markers are welcome. Just be forewarned that he probably won't get it unless they're fairly blatant; see above about him being oblivious. He's not much of a flirting type himself, so don't expect it to be returned, but it might be entertaining regardless.
Smelling this character: Go ahead! (He may find it a little weird if humanoid characters are sniffing him, though. XD) Aside from your typical clean human smells, the most notable thing about Aeleus' scent is a perpetual faint smell of freshly-turned earth, even if he hasn't been outside in days; it's the only real indicator of his magical elemental affinity.
Fighting with this character: Go ahead! He's a highly experienced and trained fighter; he's happy to spar or train with others on request, or fight alongside people, and will defend himself if he's attacked. If fighting does happen though, I really like being able to communicate on it OOCly so we can determine what should happen and how it should go; I'm pretty terrible at fight scenes.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Give me a heads up first, please! As long as we can plot it out, I'm totally down for injuries, up to and including fatal ones. How he reacts to things like this is too highly context-dependent to make generalized guesses about.
Killing this character: Give me a heads up first, please! As long as we can plot it out, I'm happy to kill him off for a while. Bear in mind that his canon point is immediately post death and revival, so I'm not entirely sure how he'd react to this.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Go ahead! As best friends with an illusionist, he's probably slightly better-defended mentally than most normal people, and he has an extremely strong will, so he'd be difficult to outright control--but he really doesn't have any proper defense against psychic abilities of any kind. I try to put enough into my tags to work with--but please ask if you'd like to be fed information or want something specific for using those abilities.
For those using more Kingdom Hearts-esque powers that revolve around the heart/soul/inner Darkness and Light, the default that your character would be able to see is a small, new, relatively fragile heart that's still growing back to stability and completion, one with very ragged and tenuous bonds, only a few of which are intact with much strength or brightness to them. The Light is bright, but flickers unsteadily with deep shadows that periodically cover and obscure it.
Using other powers on this character: I'd like a heads up first, please! 99% of the time, it's probably just fine--but again, I like the chance to plot things out at least a little, when I can. And frankly, the "everything else" category is just way too big to make blanket generalizations about anything; there are too many powers to have permissions for every flavor individually.
Warnings: I'll do my best to avoid Dream Drop Distance spoilers, but there is the possibility that they'll sneak into threads. Also, please be aware that there may be mentions of human experimentation, mass death and destruction, murder, and metaphysical maiming; Kingdom Hearts can get a little nasty sometimes.

Please respond with answers to the below, if you'd like to share information or preferences about them!
What can Aeleus sense about your character?: Aeleus has a vaguely-defined ability to sense metaphysical qualities about an individual--most generally, things like the Darkness and Light within them, the strength of their heart, and their overall magical strength. Darkness can include things like simply negative or destructive emotions, or psychological wounds and trauma--but it can also refer to more traditional things like dark magic and such. Similarly, Light can include things like positive and constructive emotions, or the ability to bond with and care about others--but it can also refer to more traditional things like holy magic and such. Think of Light as a ~raw shounen/shoujo derpness~ force, while Darkness lends itself to ~broody angsty anti-hero coolness~.
Can Aeleus manipulate your character's Darkness in any way?: It's implied that those who can use the Darkness can influence it to some extent in others, in ways like strengthening it or simply stirring it up so that it rises to the surface.

Date: 2015-11-03 03:57 am (UTC)DARKNESS MANIPULATION: go for it, though it probably wouldn't have much effect. Asch's darkness is already pretty much riding on the surface level of his personality; it's his light that's buried.
